One of their favorite stops was Marfa, Texas. The small town was the primary filming location for Giant, Dean's third and final movie. "They put on a huge parade for us and just treated us like royalty," Greenberg said. "These people have a very good memory, there are still people in town who were teenagers, youngsters or even married couples at the time the movie was shot. For a small town, a huge movie like that coming in makes a huge impact."

I'd love to see these Dallas newspaper articles...but do I really have to sign up to see them?

There was a front-page story in Saturday's Dallas Morning News about the upcoming GIANT celebration in Marfa, and a front-page story in Sunday's Odessa American.
The Marfa celebration is completely sold out!!! 500 folks from as far away as Germany are coming in for this, which just shows the power of this film, and the Trans-Pecos. This will be bigger than the Chinati Open House. Would appreciate your hospitality and kindness to our visitors when they come to town. They will be spending money on food, gas, lodging and just about everything else, because only a handful of them are from Marfa. E-mail me at kirby@bigbendquarterly.com if you have any questions, comments, or just want to toss out a good line.
